This song perfectly sums up Jerome's feelings for Eva. Perfectly. Most of the time, when I find songs to match characters, they only kinda sort of almost match. Mostly I'm just looking for a matching vibe. Often times I have to ignore romantic elements in songs because I'm trying to find songs for family relations. It's straight up impossible to find a good song for the twins because every song is too romantic. So I'm blown away with how spot on this song is for Jerome and Eva.
I imagine this song playing as he opens his eyes after the storm, and realizes he lost his chance to win Eva back from June. There's no going back to trying to be a good guy, June won't forgive him, and he's lost his daughter. In that moment he realizes she was all he wanted to begin with.
